As a brand new universe and TTRPG module using Wizards of the Coast’s Dungeons & Dragons: 5th Edition, Vynestra crosses the high fantasy tropes of the Forgotten Realms with the inspired historic culture of Ancient Rome creating the wonderful Aldarin Empire and its shining jewel of a city: Deveros.

Surrounded by beautiful artwork from the Vynestra team, it was a simple case of creating a song that cited as many of the unique and fascinating narrative elements of Giles Penfold’s universe as possible, packaging them in a bardic 12-String guitar performance bolstered by modern orchestra and authentic Roman war drums.

As the project was seeking supporters through crowd funding, the song needed to be short and punchy to interest backers from a short trailer - similar in length to the shorts seen in Blizzard’s “Hearthstone” expansion announcements and other TTRPG module trailers.
